love of gardening has always been a part of my life and my family. It began with my mother, a master gardener, and goes back to my great grandmother who was known for trading seeds and starts over the fence.

I earned my bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from the University of Washington and taught high school biology for 10 years. As a life-long gardening enthusiast, I’m one of those people who reads gardening magazines cover to cover, cuts out and saves pictures of gardens that inspire me, and takes notice of the landscaping wherever I go. I have been helping my friends and neighbors for years with their landscaping and gardening dilemmas, and they gave me a not so gentle push into business by volunteering my services for a charity auction. Following my heart and doing what I love is the foundation for Garden Sage.

It is amazing to me when I look at how life's journey has created a perfect match between my education, skills and passions. I am one of those lucky people who can say they are pursuing what they love.
